ECO is an initiative started by the Government of UK to help people keep their homes warm especially during the winter season as UK experiences the coldest of temperatures throughout the winters. This government initiative helps in the installation of Energy efficient heating systems. This energy saving initiative is so important that the Government decided to subsidize this program of theirs to provide improvements to certain groups of people residing in the UK.

If you are a pensioner and you are entitled to pension credit, and if you own a residential property or if you live in a rented property then you have a good chance that you might be entitled for a free boiler through the government boiler grant scheme known as ECO
Free Boiler for Pensioners:
Though pensioners are entitled for free boilers, but being on pension is not enough, you must also be entitled pension credit, if you don’t get pension credit you won’t be entitled to a free boiler.

How do I know if I am eligible for a free boiler as a pensioner?

Many pensioners live on limited income with little savings to utilize for life luxuries. Many pensioners still use old techniques to keep their homes warm who are then surprised with heavy bills at the end of the month because of using ancient techniques to heat their homes.
There are approximately 2.5 million homes around UK that are eligible for new boiler replacements as a part of the ECO scheme, pensioners who meet the following criteria to the following are only entitled for replacement:
On pension credit
Aged 60 plus and receive Working Tax Credit
Not only the above criteria makes pensioners entitled for a free boiler, your boiler itself should be eligible for a replacement
How do I know whether my boiler is Eligible or not?
If your boilers condenser is working and it is not older than 10years then your boiler isn’t eligible for a replacement. Your boiler must be broken or old in order to meet the criteria
